About the
Society... |
|
Welcome to the web
site of the Ipswich and
District Irish Society. The Society was formed back in 1987
and continues to organise events and activities with an Irish
flavour in the East of England.
The Society and our
events are open to
all. |
|
Music
We regularly
promote both local and national, established and up-and-coming
bands. Templehouse and Shaskeen are among the
ceili bands to have played at our ceili
dances.
But we are
also very happy to assist other promoters who bring Irish acts
to the area. We are always pleased to publicise music and
other relevant events to our members. We have frequently
helped Ipswich Borough
Council Entertainments in their promotion of Irish acts,
and have been on the Film Theatre Advisory
Board. |
